The afternoon session began with a Prayer from the Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula.

The Leader of the Majority Party Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah laid the following Papers on the Table:

1. Notification on price stability target and the Economic Policy of the Government for the Financial Year 2923/24 Budget from the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

The National Assembly Public Petitions Committee chaired by Hon. Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East) met stakeholders on a petition on pollution of River Athi. The petition was presented by Hon. Vincent Musyoka (Mwala) on behalf of the residents.

During the meeting, the Managing Director of Tana Athi River Development Authority (TARDA) Mr. Liban Roba informed the Committee that the mandate of the Authority  had been diluted and delegated to other agencies. As a result the Authority is not able to take effective action.

The National Assembly Public Investment Committee on Commercial Affairs and Energy met the Ag. Director General Kenya Maritime Authority for the second time, to respond to questions arising from the examination of the Reports of the Auditor General on the Authority's  financial statements for Financial Years 2018/2019 to 2020/2021.

The Committee chaired by Hon. David Pkosing (Pokot South) raised issues with the irregular payment of sitting allowances to non board members by KMA in the Financial Year 2020/2021.

The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations has challenged the Kenyan Permanent Mission to United Nations Habitat in Nairobi to collaborate more with State agencies involved in urbanization and human settlement projects to assure citizens of standard facilities.

Led by Hon. Elijah Memusi (Kajiado-Central); who chaired the session Members were on a site inspection tour of the Mission as part of their oversight mandate.
