Functions and Mandate
The primary function of PBO is to provide professional and technical services in respect of budget, finance and economic information to Committees of Parliament. The Office derives this legal mandate from Sections 9 and 10 of the Public Finance Management (PFM) Act, 2012.
Structure and Leadership
The PBO is a Directorate within the overall structure of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC). The Office is a core technical office headed at the level of a director charged with the mandate of offering technical advisory services in-line with its function and mandate.
