House Deputy Speakers host the Vice-Chairman, National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Cheboi, and his Senate counterpart Professor Kithure Kindiki, last Friday hosted the Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China, H. E.  Mr. Cao Jianming, at Parliament Buildings where they held separate bilateral talks touching on parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Kenya and Hungary Seek to Entrench Closer Relations.

The Speaker of the National Assembly   of Hungary  H.E. László Kövér, has invited Kenya to strongly consider opening an embassy in Budapest, Hungary, as an entry point to serve Kenya’s interest in East and Central Europe. His call comes amid flourishing relations between Bucharest and Nairobi, which have gained momentum in the last few months, culminating to yesterday's state visit by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon.Justin Muturi. This deepening cooperation has further paved way for a 100 annual scholarships for Kenyan students.

Speaker Cautions Committees As They Resume Inquiry on the Proposed KAA/KQ Commercial Arrangement

The Speaker of the National Assembly, The Hon Justin Muturi last evening allowed the Public Investments Committee and the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing to resume their separate examination of the proposed Privately Initiated Proposal (PIIP) by Kenya Airways, but not before cautioning the two Committees that in examining the investment proposal, they must be conscious that the arrangement is still at its infancy.

African Parliamentary Researchers Seek the Establishment of a Regional Association

Parliamentary Researchers from across the continent are now seeking higher recognition of their duties in driving the Legislative process, calling for deliberate entrenchment of the Legislative Research Departments across African Parliaments. This is part of the resolutions that were adopted at the close of the four-day Inaugural Africa Parliamentary Researcher’s Conference in Nairobi, last evening.
