Members of the National Assembly have put too task the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock over the continuous use of carcinogenic pesticides in the Country.

CS, Andrew Karanja had appeared before the National Assembly to answer to Members questions in line with the House Standing order 42(A) (6B).

The Mediation Committee on the Division of Revenue (Amendment) Bill, 2024 has unanimously agreed to allocate Ksh. 387 billion to County Governments. The decision came after extensive deliberations over three days, following earlier meetings that failed to reach a consensus.

The Committee, co-chaired by Mandera Senator Ali Roba and Kiharu MP Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, announced the agreement as a balance between the fiscal constraints of the National Government and the operational demands of the Counties.

Lawmakers have passed the Technopolis Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 6 of 2024), which proposes the establishment of a comprehensive framework to govern the development and management of Technopolis hubs across the country. 

The Bill, moved by the Chairperson of the Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation, Hon. John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), seeks to create the Technopolis Development Authority, a body that will oversee the planning, development, and governance of all Technopolises in Kenya.

President (Dr.) William Ruto is scheduled to deliver his third State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Thursday, 21st November 2024.
 
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang'ula made this Communication. He said, "I wish to inform the House that I have received a message from His Excellency the President conveying that he intends to deliver the 2023 State of the Nation address to Parliament."

Speaker Wetang'ula further informed the House of a joint sitting to be held in the National Assembly.

The Business Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 has been committed to two departmental Committees for consideration and public participation following its First Reading on 13th November 2024. 

The Bill, sponsored by the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, seeks to amend nine Acts of Parliament to enhance regulatory oversight, streamline processes, and promote economic stability.
