SENATE SPEAKER KINGI HAILS BILATERAL RELATIONS BETWEEN KENYA AND HUNGARY

The Speaker of the Senate Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi has said that good working relationship between Kenya and Hungary has been positive and mutually beneficial. 

The Speaker however wants Parliaments of the two countries to strengthen the partnership between these two countries and intensify efforts to promote greatest linkages and networks.

CS MURKOMEN APPEARS BEFORE SENATE ROADS COMMITTEE

Roads and Transportation Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen said that the rehabilitation of Mombasa road, Uhuru Highway and Waiyaki Way under the Nairobi Expressway Way will be rehabilitated within the next year.

Speaking when he appeared before the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing Chaired by Kiambu Senator Karungo Thangwa, the cabinet secretary expressed confidence that the road under the Expressway will be upgraded to international standards.

SENATE STANDING COMMITTEE ON TRADE, INDUSTRILIZATION AND TOURISM DELIBERATES ON COUNTY LICENCING BILL

Earlier today, the Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism led by the Vice- Chair, Sen. Esther Okenyuri met today to consider Legal Briefs on the County Licensing (Uniform Procedures) Bill, Senate Bill No.9 of 2022 and the Start-up Bill, 2022 (Senate Bill No. 14 of 2022). 

Sponsored by Senator Crystal Asige, the County Licensing (Uniform Procedures) Bill, 2022 seeks to establish uniform framework which will form the basis of licensing processes in counties.

ENGAGE PARLIAMENT FOR BETTER LAWS, SPEAKER KINGI TELLS KEPSA

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has advised the business community to constantly engage parliament and ensure laws enacted are friendly to businesses.

In the absence of such engagement, he note that there is a likelihood that laws passed will nor address the concerns of the people.

"Through such engagements, we as the Senate shall harvest the technical knowledge that will enrich legislation andensures issues of concerns are brought to the fore and addressed," said Speaker Kingi.

SPEAKER OF THE SENATE HOSTS THE GAMBIAN DELEGATION

Speaker Amason Kingi has hailed the diplomatic relationship between Kenya and The Gambia.

Speaker Kingi said The Gambia has been a wonderful friend to Kenya and that the two countries have share close ties for many years.

"Kenya believes in exchanging ideas and building partnerships," Speaker Kingi said.

He was speaking when he hosted a delegation MPs from The Gambia who are in Kenya for a benchmarking tour.

The team is led by Mr Fabakary Tombong Jatta who is the Speaker of National Assembly of the Gambia.
