Nominated Senator Raphael Chimera has sought a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing on the construction of the Kwale-Kinango Road.

In his request, Sen. Chimera wants the committee to provide a comprehensive report on the current status of construction and maintenance of the Kwale-Kinango road, indicating the timeline for completion of the project explaining the challenges faced during the construction and maintenance process, detailing the measures being taken to address the challenges to ensure timely completion of the project.

The committee is required to outline plans in place, if any, to engage the local communities along the road to address their concerns as they arise throughout the construction phase.

Further, the lawmaker wants the committee to apprise the Senate on the steps being taken to ensure the road is built to specifications provided in the tender award stating measures in place to ensure regular maintenance of the road.
