The National Assembly Committee on Implementation, led by chairman Hon. Raphael Wanjala (Budalangi), convened a meeting with the implementing parties; the Kenya Space Agency, Italian Space Agency, and the Ministry of Defense to address the emerging issues. The meeting was also attended by IItalian Ambassador to Kenya Roberto Natali. 

“We are here to address concerns raised by the Defense Cabinet Secretary, indicating that Italy is not meeting its end of the bargain,“ said Hon. Wanjala. 

Also in attendance was the Principal Secretary for Defense Hon. Patrick Mariru. Hon. Mariru emphasized the role the Committee plays in determining grounds for possible termination of the Agreement. 

“We have engaged at different levels on this matter, and it’s your responsibility as the people’s representative to guide us, and having had prior discussions on this we leave it to this Committee to guide us on the way forward, having articulated our issues as a Ministry with full disclosure," stated the PS. 

After a tour of the facility and subsequent engagement of personnel working at the Italian Space Centre,Members noted that most of the issues raised by the Cabinet Secretary for Defense,  Hon. Aden Duale  needed immediate resolution failure to which Kenya may have to pull out of the deal.
