The National Assembly - Public Investments Committee on Governance and Education, chaired by Hon. Jack Wamboka (Bumula), convened a meeting with the Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Board of Trustees and Management to address concerns raised by the Auditor General in his report.
During the session, the Committee was informed The Board of Trustees has been violating the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Act of 2013, as it continued to manage the institution's affairs while the law constituted a Board of Governors. Furthermore, despite having received 300 acres of land as donation from the community for the construction of a university, the Board continued to retain 230 acres.
To gain a comprehensive understanding, the Committee will conduct on-site inspections of the infrastructure and hold a meeting with the contractors involved.
