The Budget & Appropriations Committee (BAC) is engaged in public hearings in 16 Counties to collect the views and memoranda on the 2023/24 Budget Estimates.

Members of the Budget & Appropriations Committee have been divided into  10 teams who will cover Marsabit, Siaya, Busia, Bomet, Kisii, Kajiado, Lamu, Tana River, Bungoma, West Pokot, Garissa, Kitui, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Tharaka Nithi, and Embu counties.

Residents of Siaya and Kisii counties raised a number of issues they want to be addressed in the 2023/2024 Budget Estimates. They proposed the setting up of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) centres to empower the youth, additional tarmac roads, completion of specific stalled projects in the region, the establishment of industrial parks to enhance job creation, an increase of water infrastructure and support in the blue economy sector by the construction of the Lake Victoria ring road to open up fish markets. 

Hon. Mary Emaase (MP Teso South) led the team to Busia County while the team to Kisii County was led by Hon. Florence Jematia (Baringo County MP).
