The Liaison Committee

    1. The Liaison Committee consists of the Speaker as chairperson and the chairpersons of all committees of the Senate [and chairpersons or vice chairpersons of joint committees] except ad hoc committees.
    2. guide and co-ordinate the operations, policies and mandates of all Committees;
    3. deliberate on and apportion the annual operating budget among the Committees;
    4. consider programmes of all Committees, including their need to travel and sit away from the precincts of the Senate;
    5. deliberate and decide on which reports of the Committees shall be debated in the House;
    6. ensure that Committees submit reports as required by the Standing Orders;
    7. determine, whenever necessary, which committee or committees should deliberate on a matter; and
    8. give such advice relating to the work and mandate of select committees as it may deem necessary.
    9. The quorum of the Liaison Committee shall be the Chairperson and a third of the members of the Committee.
