Amason Kingi is expected to deliver a ruling on the decision by a section of political parties within Azimio Coalition to institute changes to the minority leadership.

Speaker Kingi offered to rule on the matter after he was prevailed upon by Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo.

Senator Madzayo had submitted a letter to the Speaker proposing to remove Minority Whip Fatuma Dullo, replacing her with her deputy Ledama ole Kina. 

The letter also proposes to elevate Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna to the position of deputy Minority Whip.

On Wednesday, senator Madzayo took to the floor demanding Speaker Kingi to issue the ruling so that the Minority can effect changes.

Garissa senator Abdul Haji dismissed the request of the Minority Leader describing the letter to the Speaker as a rushed decision.

"The decision to effect the changes is borne out of reports in the media," Senator Haji said, noting that the Azimio leadership had failed to reach out to Jubilee party to understand why it was disengaging from the coalition.

"The Minority Leader should wait and see whether the proposal by jubilee party to leave azimio will materialise. This is not the time to go against your colleagues in the coalition. The process of Jubilee to disengage Azimio has not been concluded."

Speaker Kingi promised to deliver the ruling as soon as it is ready but reprimanded senator Madzayo for directing him to deliver the ruling on the matter.

"The ruling is being processed in the usual manner. I will deliver once its ready so that we can put this matter to rest," he told the House.
