Speaker Lusaka attends Uganda's State of the Nation Address

The Speaker of the Sente, Rt Hon Kenneth Lusaka, Wednesday, 6th June 2018 attended the State Opening of the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament of the Republic of Uganda and the State of the Nation Address by HE Gen Yoweri Museveni.

At the end of the address Speaker Lusaka noted that "the State of the Nation is strong and the forecast is optimistic."

 

HE Museveni's Address highlighted the Government's achievements and its future plans. 

The President announced that his Government would revive Uganda Airlines. 
 

"We have already booked slots for the manufacture of medium and long–distance planes. These will be able to handle the regional and inter-national routes," said HE Museveni.

The Senate of Kenya’s representation at the State Function contributes greatly to the strengthening of Kenya’s parliamentary diplomacy. Speaker Lusaka was formally invited by Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga.

 

Hon Chris Omulele (Luanda) represented the National Assembly while Hon Oburu Odinga (Kenya) represented EALA.
