Faraja Foundation Engages Senate Liaison Office for Youth Empowerment Partnership
In a strategic move to strengthen youth voices in East Africa, Faraja Foundation recently held a high-level meeting with the Senate Liaison Office to explore collaboration opportunities with the Kenyan Parliament. The discussions centered on amplifying youth participation in governance and policy formulation processes.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Victor Bett who is a Committee Clerk and also in charge of the youth desk. The team from the Senate expressed strong support for the proposed partnership, committing to champion the initiative within Parliament.
The proposed collaboration aims to facilitate youth engagement through capacity-building training, exchange trips, and organized parliamentary visits between Kenya and other East African countries. These initiatives are designed to nurture a generation of informed, proactive, and civic-minded young leaders.
Also present was a representative from the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association (KYPA), who provided insights into KYPA’s ongoing youth empowerment programs. Highlighting shared goals with Faraja Foundation—including the popular “Bunge Mashinani” forums—the KYPA representative proposed joint efforts to enhance the reach and impact of both organizations.
In a promising outcome, the Senate Liaison Office pledged to work closely with KYPA and Faraja Foundation to bring the partnership to fruition, ensuring that the voices of the youth are not only heard but integrated into national and regional development agendas.
