Marsabit County Senator Mohamed Chute sought a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Energy on the status of electricity connections in various parts of Marsabit County.

The Senator wants the Committee to state the plans by the government if any, to install a power backup generator in Marsabit town to aver the incessant power blackout in the town; and provide an update on the status of the electricity connection project in Lonyangalani, disclosing whether the project was tendered, who won the bid, the commencement date and the estimated date of completion of the project.

He further seeks to have an update on the status of the electricity transmission project from Lake Turkana to Marsabit town, disclosing whether the project was tendered, who won the bid, the commencement date and the estimated date of completion of the project.

Lastly, Sen. Chute would like to know the plans in place, if any, to launch an electricity transmission project from Lake Turkana to Mt. Kulal and Kargi areas in Marsabit County, stating the estimated commencement and completion dates.
