The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Education led by the Vice Chairperson Hon. Malulu Injendi (Malava), engaged in a consultative meeting with representatives from Yamaha Corporation.
The delegation from the Japanese firm, headed by Mr. Tamezawa Hiroshi, provided a comprehensive briefing to the team regarding Yamaha's School Project.Β
This initiative aims to support learners acrossΒ the country by providing them with musical instruments such as keyboards, pianica and recorders.Β
Hon. Malulu said the initiative is noble, noting that allowing pupils to familiarize themselves with different musical instruments at an early age will help nurture talents.
Β "Introducing instrumental music education in our schools will be very beneficial to learners. Count on our support as a Committee," said Hon. Malulu.Β
In his presentation, Mr. Hiroshi elaborated on the details of the project, which will be implemented by Yamaha Music Gulf (YMGF).
Β He added that the project focuses on promoting music activities in schools, taking into account the specific circumstances and needs of each country.Β
Notably, several countries, including South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Kuwait, Malaysia, India, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and Vietnam, have already adopted the program.
