Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries led by Vice Chairperson, Embu County Senator, Sen.Alexander Munyi Mundigi has summoned the Minister of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Hon. Alice Wahome and Kisumu County Governor Hon. Anyang' Nyongo, for failing to appear before the Committee to formally respond to the Petition regarding the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) Graft Investigation of West Kano Irrigation Scheme.

The committee had directed both the Governor and the Cabinet Secretary to appear before them on June 20th, 2023 and further requested them to formally submit on the petition. The Governor and the CS however failed to appear before the Senate twice and thrice respectively, necessitating the Committee to summon them.

The Committee further considered and adopted the draft report and the amendments on the Livestock and Produce Theft Bill,2023 (Senate Bils No. 12 of 2023)
