The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Health chaired by Hon. (Dr) Robert Pukose will this morning engage with officials of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) to address alleged irregularities in the procurement process and the cancellation of long-lasting insecticidal mosquito nets at KEMSA.
In addition the Committee will hold a second meeting with the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to discuss various concerns including the non-remittance of NHIF capitations to hospitals providing services to cardholders.Β
The Committee will also review cash flow statements from the past two years and assess any existing financial reserve policies, if applicable.
Further, the Committee will address concerns related to hospitals' refusal to accept NHIF cards and the recent cancellation of NHIF recruitment for the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Management Directors.Β
Also on the agenda is the status of payments made by NHIF for Edu Afya, Linda Mama maternity cover, and rebates in detail.Β
The Committee aims to gather information about pending amounts, the date of the last payment, outstanding balances owed to hospitals, and the timeline for remaining payments.Β
