The National Assembly Audit Committees yesterday hosted a delegation of Members of Parliament from the Republic of Zambia. The Decentralized Funds Accounts Committee (DFAC), the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the Special Funds Accounts Committee (SFAC), and the Public Investment Committee on Governance and Education (PIC G&E) collectively hosted the Zambian delegation in the Main Chambers of the National Assembly.

The delegation of ten Members of Parliament led by Hon. Warren Mwambazi, Chairperson of the Zambian Public Accounts Committee (PAC) visited the National Assembly of Kenya to benchmark and gain insights into the functioning of its Audit Committees.Β Β 

In his remarks, Hon. Gideon Mulyungi, Chairperson of the Decentralized Funds Accounts Committee and the session's host, expressed his appreciation to the Zambian counterparts' for choosing to visit the Parliament of Kenya. He added that, "this marks a significant stride towards promoting Pan-Africanism on the continent".

As part of the inter-Parliamentary exchange program, a delegation of Kenyan legislators is scheduled to visit Zambia in the coming weeks. The program seeks to promote ideological exchange among Commonwealth countries, enabling them to improve their oversight roles in their respective Parliaments.

Through these collaborative efforts, both Kenya and Zambia aim to strengthen Parliamentary practices, facilitate mutual learning, and contribute to the advancement of good governance and accountability across Africa.
