𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

The Public Investments Committee on Governance and Education, led by Hon. Jack Wamboka, has initiated investigations into the financial discrepancies at the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBA) and the Business Registration Services (BRS), following queries in the Auditor General's report for the Financial Years 2018/2019 and 2019/2020.

At KECOBA, audit queries have been asked with regards to a deficit of Kshs.22,034,340, which resulted in the depletion of accumulated reserves.

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

The National Assembly this afternoon passed two Procedural Motions  both aimed at extending the review periods for the Budget Policy Statement and the Debt Management Strategy of 2024.

The Motions,  moved by Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, Chairperson of the Budget  and Appropriations Committee, and Hon. Abdi Shurie, Chairperson of the Public Debt & Privatization Committee, are designed to afford Kenyan citizens additional time to give their views on  the nation’s budget.

The National Assembly hosted a delegation of Senior Congressional Staff Members (STAFFDEL) who visited to gain insight into the US-Kenya trade relations, and the Kenyan Parliamentary Rules and Procedures, amongst other issues.

The delegation engaged in discussions with key parliamentary figures, unraveling the legislative procedure and standing orders that govern the nation's decision-making processes.

Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Samuel Njoroge, took the delegation through the legislative process.

Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairman of Parliamentary Service Commission, Right Honorable Sen. (Dr.) Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H, MP hosted the fifth and sixth Parliamentary Service Commissioners for a gala Dinner in Naivasha.

 

The gala dinner was  a culmination of a successful two-days retreat for the Parliamentary Service Commission.

 

The retreat brought together the members of the fifth and sixth Parliamentary Service Commission where the Exit Report of the fifth Commission was presented and adopted.
