Members of the National Assembly commenced the Second Reading of the Virtual Asset Service Providers Bill (National Assembly Bill No.15 of 2025) on June 24th 2025.

The  Bill which seeks to  establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for the country's booming virtual asset sector. Spearheaded by Hon. Kuria Kimani (Molo), Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, the Bill seeks to position Kenya as a leader in digital finance on the African continent.

The Public Investments Committee on Education and Governance today convened a series of meetings with six (6) Higher Learning institutions. The Committee chaired by Bumula MP Hon. Wanami Wamboka, deliberated on Audit Queries raised in the learning Institutions’ reports by the office of the Auditor General for financial years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 respectively.

The Bill has been in development since the late 1990s and marks a significant step towards realizing the principles of the Constitution in respect of the Judiciary, its independence and the renumeration and benefits of judges of superior courts.

The National Assembly has unanimously passed the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which seeks to anchor three critical development funds into the Constitution: the National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CF), the Senate Oversight Fund (SOF), and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

During the Second Reading of the Bill, 304 Members of Parliament voted in favour, with none opposing. At the Third Reading, 298 MPs supported the Bill, registering a unanimous vote.

The National Assembly has adopted the Fourth Generation  Revenue Sharing Formula for Counties for the Financial Years 2025/2026 to 2029/2030..
