𝐋𝐀𝐖𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐋, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 

Members of the National Assembly commenced the Second Reading of the Virtual Asset Service Providers Bill (National Assembly Bill No.15 of 2025) on June 24th 2025.

The  Bill which seeks to  establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for the country's booming virtual asset sector. Spearheaded by Hon. Kuria Kimani (Molo), Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, the Bill seeks to position Kenya as a leader in digital finance on the African continent.

𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐇 𝐍𝐆-𝐂𝐅, 𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐀𝐅 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

The National Assembly has unanimously passed the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which seeks to anchor three critical development funds into the Constitution: the National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CF), the Senate Oversight Fund (SOF), and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

During the Second Reading of the Bill, 304 Members of Parliament voted in favour, with none opposing. At the Third Reading, 298 MPs supported the Bill, registering a unanimous vote.
