Senate Speaker the Rt. Hon. Amason Jeffah Kingi, EGH, Mp today attended a briefing on the National Prayer Breakfast meeting slated for Wednesday June 7, 2023.

The meeting that took place at State House was convened by President William Ruto ahead of the annual event that will take place at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

The National Prayer Breakfast according to the organizers is aimed at offering a platform for Kenyans to come together, reflect and pray for the national unity and progress of the country.

The National Prayer Breakfast idea that dates back to 1987 though did not take off strongly reemerged in 2002 with the first event taking place in May 2003 during the Late President Mwai Kibaki`s tenure.

The event that will be presided over by President William Ruto will bring together various political and religious leaders.

The Monday briefing meeting was also attended by Speaker of the National Assembly Rt Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang`ula, Clerk of the Senate Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye, CBS, Clerk of the National Assembly Mr. Samuel Njoroge and members of the organising committee.
