The Senate County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee has resolved to conduct a special audit into the management of funds in Isiolo County. The decision follows a meeting on Tuesday with Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo, who was summoned after previously failing to appear before the committee.

Senators expressed dissatisfaction with Governor Guyo's responses regarding the Bursary Fund, Emergency Fund, and the Youth, Women, and People With Disabilities Fund. They deemed the responses inadequate and warned of serious consequences, including the potential suspension of Isiolo County funds, if accountability issues weren't addressed.

Committee Chair, Senator Godfrey Osotsi (Vihiga), announced a special audit by the Office of the Auditor General (AOG) to investigate Isiolo County's financial management. 

"Given these findings," Senator Osotsi remarked, "we are requesting a special AOG audit in Isiolo County."

Governor Guyo was granted two weeks to prepare and submit more comprehensive responses to the committee.

In a separate afternoon session, the Committee instructed Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilberforce Otichilo to provide a list of all Vihiga County Scholarship beneficiaries, including awarded amounts and justifications. Governor Otichilo and his team appeared before the committee to address concerns regarding the county's Education and Sports Funds.
