COMMITTEE ON IMPLEMENTATION QUESTIONS TREASURY CS OVER DELAYED PENSION PAYMENT TO RETIRED GOVERNMENT OFFICERS
T he Committee on Implementation met with the Cabinet Secretary (CS), National Treasury and Economic Planning Prof Njuguna Ndung’u, and members of the Kenyan Association of Retired Officers (KARO), to discuss the implementation status of payment of pensions to retired Government officers.
TRADE COMMITTEE INSPECTS SEZ DONGO KUNDU
Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives led by the Chairperson Hon. James Gakuya, undertook an inspection visit of the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Project. The Committee sought to understand the challenges experienced by the Dongo Kundu SEZ project, the progress on squatter settlement, the investors at the zone and their strategic plan.
HOUSE COMMITTEE PROBES KFS AUDIT QUERIES
The Public Investment Committee on Commercial Affairs and Energy Chaired by Hon. David Pkosing has for the second time met Kenya Forestry Service (KFS) Acting Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Alex Lemarkoko to question him over the accounts for Financial Years 2015/2016 and 2016/2017. Members of the Committee had expressed dissatisfaction with Mr. Lemarkoko's responses when he initially appeared before the Committee.
COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT VISITS BOYA YARD KILIFI COUNTY
The National Assembly Committee on Environment, Forestry, and Mining led by Hon. Charles Kamuren (Baringo South), has made a visit to Boya Yard and Tezo Community to inspect eight uprooted Baobab trees, awaiting exportation to Georgia.
