The National Assembly Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee has adopted a Report on an Inspection Visit to Kenyan Embassies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait.

The Report made a raft of recommendations to reform relations between the Embassies, the Kenyan Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Ministry and other key stakeholders in the host countries.

Among key recommendations made by the Committee is for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection as well as the Directorate of Immigration Services to institute robust, structured and programatized export of labour to the Middle-East. 

"They should also continue tightening and enforcing existing regulations on managing Kenyan labour migration to the Middle East," reads the Report in part.

The delegation led by Committee Vice-Chair Hon. Bashir Abdullah visited the two missions between 5th May, 2023 and 12th May, 2023.

The Report is due for tabling and debate in the House.
