The National Government owes constituency NG-CDF Boards across the country a total of over Kshs.600 million. This was revealed in a report by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board on status of receipts and disbursement as at July 7th 2023.
These monies have not been disbursed to the Constituency NG-CDF Boards from the Financial Year 2015/2016 to 2021/2022.
According to the report, 32 constituencies have not received their allocations amounting to Kshs.299,222,913.
In the Financial Year 2020/2021 the National NG-CDF Board did not release Ksh191,655,239.50 to 25 constituencies across the country.
The report read in part, "18 constituencies are still demanding for settlement of their outstanding balances amounting to Kshs.67,710,143.50 in the Financial Year 2019/2020".
In the Financial Year 2018/2019 the amount owed to 10 constituencies totals to Kshs.42,300,616, the report read.
Two constituencies are owed Kshs.11,900,000 in the Financial Year 2017/2018. The same number of constituencies have not received allocations amounting to Kshs.9 million in the Financial Year 2015/2016.
In the report Embakasi North Constituency has the highest outstanding balance amounting to Kshs.96,588,871 followed by Taveta whose balance stood at Kshs.42,997,998, Changamwe Constituency Ksh.30 million and Kigumo Constituency Kshs.24,088,879.
This information comes at a time the Board announced the release of Kshs.47,189,900,000 to constituencies to clear balances owed by the NG-CDF kitty in the Financial Year 2022/2023.
