National Assembly Scheduled to hold Special Sittings before Christmas

Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 29 (1), the National Assembly is set to hold Special morning and afternoon Sittings, commencing at 10.00am and at 2.30pm respectively on December 22, 2020.

This follows a request by the Leader of the Majority Party to the Speaker to hold Special Sittings of the House, which the Speaker of the  National Assembly, Hon. Justin Muturi acceded to.

Among the key businesses scheduled for the sittings is the tabling of Value Added Tax (Amendment of the Rate  Tax) Order, 2020, Legal Notice No.206 of 2020; voting on the Approval of the Treaty on the avoidance of Double Taxation between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Republic of Mauritius and the approval of the Treaty on Accession to the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance
