HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVES MELLY FOR APPOINTMENT AS SRC COMMISSIONER.
The National Assembly has unanimously approved Mr. Isaac Kipkemboi Melly for appointment as a Commissioner in the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC). This was after the House debated a Report by the
Committee on Labour chaired by Hon. Eric Muchangi on the vetting of the nominee.
The Report indicated that Mr. Melly was eligible for the appointment to the State Office as he is a Kenyan citizen born in Uasin Gishu County, holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Business Management, and a Diploma in Business Management.
Members of the National Assembly were informed that Mr. Melly previously served as a Senator of Uasin Gishu County and was a member of the Parliament of Kenya from 2013 to 2017. This experience, coupled with his qualifications, made him well-suited to represent the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) in the SRC.
Members agreed that Mr. Melly has a strong understanding of administrative and technical issues affecting the SRC and the PSC. They added that Melly's appointment would bring a new voice of reason to the Commission
and ensure that Members' welfare is prioritized.
