The 4th annual Legislative Summit between The Senate and the County Assemblies Forum (CAF) kicks off In Kisumu County.

The five day event to be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday for the official opening will also be addressed by Opposition Leader  and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday. On Wednesday the conference will be officially closed by Deputy President Dr William Ruto.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka is leading the entire Senate to the event that also has a wide representation from the Non Governmental Organizations.

Speaker Lusaka rallies support for countries hit by Cyclone Idai

DOHA, Qatar | 6 April - The Kenyan delegation to the 140th Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) led by Speaker of the Senate, Rt Hon Kenneth Lusaka has called for urgent international action in support of southern African countries hit by Cyclone Idai.


While addressing delegates at the Africa geopolitical caucus meeting - ahead of the 140th General Assembly - Speaker Lusaka strongly supported inclusion of the proposed emergency item by Netherlands.

African Parliamentary Researchers Seek the Establishment of a Regional Association

Parliamentary Researchers from across the continent are now seeking higher recognition of their duties in driving the Legislative process, calling for deliberate entrenchment of the Legislative Research Departments across African Parliaments. This is part of the resolutions that were adopted at the close of the four-day Inaugural Africa Parliamentary Researcher’s Conference in Nairobi, last evening.
