Parliament to host the 19th Annual National Prayer Breakfast


The Parliament of Kenya is scheduled to host the 19th Edition of the National Annual Prayer Breakfast tomorrow, Thursday, 26th May 2022 at Safari Park Hotel. President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to grace the occasion themed “Transitions”.

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual ecumenical event offered under the auspices of the Co-Patrons, the Speaker of the Senate and the National Assembly; and organized by a group of dedicated volunteers who make up the National Prayer Breakfast Organizing Committee.

Devolution and Media Power Dominate as Senate Board Engages Editors’ Guild

MOMBASA, 13th May – The Clerk of the Senate, Mr Jeremiah Nyegenye, has challenged news editors to use the immense power they wield to advance ideals of democracy and good governance.

During an engagement forum between the Senate Board of Management and members of the Kenya Editors’ Guild (KEG), Mr Nyegenye effortlessly employed a Biblical analogy to demonstrate the perception-shaping power of the media.

SENATE DEPUTY SPEAKER HOSTS CZECH COUNTERPART, AGREE TO STRENGTHEN TIES

NAIROBI, 21st April - The Deputy Speaker of the Senate of Kenya, Sen (Prof) Margaret Kamar today hosted her Czech counterpart, Hon Jitka Seitlová where they explored avenues of deepening parliamentary engagement and strengthening areas of cooperation between their countries.

 

The meeting - attended by delegations of Senators from either side - was held at Parliament of Kenya's precincts, where discussions principally centred on climate change and conservation.

 

PRESIDENT URGES PARLIAMENTARIANS TO COME UP WITH A ROAD MAP TO END CONFLICT.

President Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, today urged Parliamentarians from the Great Lakes Region,to come up with a comprehensive and achievable road map towards conflict resolution.

 

The President,in a speech read on his behalf by Interior Cabinet Secretary Hon.Fred Matiangi, during the official opening of the 12th ordinary session of the Plenary Assembly of the Forum of Parliaments of the Member State of the International Conference of the Great Lakes region (FP-ICGLR),reiterated the need for a conflict free region.
