The Parliamentary Ad Hoc Funeral Planning Committee, chaired by Tinderet MP, Hon. Julius Melly, has announced that the late Emurua Dikirr MP. Hon. Johana Ng'eno, and three others will be laid to rest on Friday, 6th March, 2026.

The Committee settled on the date after consultations with family members, the National Assembly Speaker and the Office of the President.

Leaders have called for unity, calm, and respect as the nation mourns the tragic loss of Emurua Dikirr MP, Hon. Johana Ng’eno, and five other Kenyans who perished in a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County.

Speaking at Lee Funeral Home on Sunday, 1st March, Members of Parliament and other leaders urged Kenyans to show solidarity with the bereaved families and avoid politicising the tragedy.

President William Ruto has joined Members of Parliament, leaders, friends, and citizens across the country in mourning the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Hon. Johana Ng’eno, who perished alongside five others in a tragic helicopter crash in Nandi County.

PS SEEKS SENATE SUPPORT FOR AGRICULTURE POLICY AND LEGAL REFORMS

Livestock Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke has urged the Senate to support policy and legislative reforms initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture to strengthen the sector and address the country’s food security challenges.

 

Speaking during a retreat of Senators in Naivasha, the PS said the Ministry has lined up a series of legislative and policy proposals which, if implemented, would significantly boost food production and enhance national food security.

 

Mueke represented Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe at the meeting.
