The Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget held a meeting this Monday where members deliberated on the 2024 Budget Policy Statement (BPS), Medium Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDMS) and the Medium Term Revenue Strategy (MTRS).

 

During the meeting, committee members held a robust discussion on submissions by the Parliamentary Budget Office on Budget Policy Statement, Medium Term Debt Management Strategy and the Medium Term Revenue Strategy.

 

𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐈 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐀𝐔𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

Today, the Senate Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds, chaired by Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, convened with Tana River County Governor Godhana Dhadho. The focus of the meeting was to scrutinize the Reports of the Auditor-General concerning the financial statements of three funds spanning the years from 2020 to 2022: the Tana River Emergency Fund, the Tana River County Ward Bursary Fund, and the Tana River Disaster Risk Management Fund.

Over the weekend, the Senate Committee on County Public Investments and Special Fund Committee, led by Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, partnered with the Council of Governors Committee on Water, Forestry, and Natural Resources Management (Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime) for a two-day Water Multi-Stakeholder Forum in Mombasa County. The forum aimed to address crucial issues in water management and governance.

Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairman of Parliamentary Service Commission, Right Honorable Sen. (Dr.) Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H, MP hosted the fifth and sixth Parliamentary Service Commissioners for a gala Dinner in Naivasha.

 

The gala dinner was  a culmination of a successful two-days retreat for the Parliamentary Service Commission.

 

The retreat brought together the members of the fifth and sixth Parliamentary Service Commission where the Exit Report of the fifth Commission was presented and adopted.
