The National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Committee has asked two Ministries to hasten finalization of critical guidelines to enable constituencies to benefit from funds for constituency-based digital hubs and climate change mitigation measures.

STAREHE BOYS’ SCHOOL AND CENTRE VOLUNTARY SERVICE SCHEME AT PARLIAMENT

Eight Starehe Boy’s Centre students took part in a two-week voluntary service scheme in a Programme by the Parliament of Kenya through the office of the Clerk of the Senate in a bid to educate and inspire the future endeavors of young men and women from the 5th to the 16th august 2024. This enabled the students to be accustomed to the legislative processes and the inner workings of parliament.

This article aims to offer an insightful account of their experiences in the incredible academic holiday at Parliament.

The Senate Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds halted its proceedings with Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo, demanding a more comprehensive audit of the county's finances. The decision came after Governor Nyaribo appeared before the committee to address audit queries for the financial years 2020/2021, 2021/2022, and 2022/2023 concerning the Municipality of Nyamira.

Turkana Central MP, Hon. Joseph Emathe has expressed concern over the slow progress of the Kawalase Flood Control Project in Turkana County.

Asking a question on the Floor of the House on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 Hon. Emathe said the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority established under Section 30 of the Water Act, 2016 is mandated to undertake the development of national public works, water works for storage of water resources and flood control, on behalf of the national Government.

In a bid to enhance transparency and accountability in public service delivery, the Senate County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee convened a meeting with Auditor-General Nancy Gathungu. The meeting, chaired by Senator Godfrey Osotsi, focused on addressing concerns raised in a previous letter regarding audits of municipalities and Level 4 and Level 5 hospitals. Gathungu's appearance before the committee underscored the critical role of audits in ensuring that public funds are utilized effectively and efficiently.
