The Senate Deputy Majority Leader and Nakuru County Senator Tabitha Karanja Keroche has called on Senators to remain committed to their legislative duties to uphold the principles of devolution, accountability and transparency.

Speaking during the Senate midterm retreat in Nakuru County, Sen. Karanja emphasized the importance of collective efforts in strengthening devolution for the benefit of all Kenyans.

βAs we engage in robust discussions and deliberations during this retreat, let us keep in mind the ultimate goal of devolution is to improve the lives of our people. We must remain focused on the principles of accountability, transparency and public participation,β stated Sen. Karanja.

She further reminded her colleagues of their responsibility to serve the electorate with diligence and dedication. βOur constituents have entrusted us with their aspirations and it is our duty to fulfill those aspirations with unwavering dedication and commitment,β she added.

The UDA Senator also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of key institutions in enhancing devolution including the Council of Governors, County Assemblies Forum, the State Department for Devolution, the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGTRC) and the Offices of the Auditor General and Controller of Budget.
