Serjeant at Arms

The Chief Serjeant-at-Arms is an office in the Parliamentary Service charged with duties involving service to the Speaker, Members, the Clerk and other staff of the National Assembly and performance of chamber and ceremonial duties. The Serjeant-at-Arms also perform a number of miscellaneous security and safety duties for the general welfare of Parliament. In performing these duties the Office of Serjeant-at-Arms perform the following duties:-

DIRECTORATE OF LEGAL SERVICES (DLS)

Background.

The Directorate of Legal Services is an office established under the Parliamentary Service Commission to support the National Assembly of Kenya. DLS is composed of legal counsels who specialize in legislative drafting and offer legal services to the National Assembly to enable it fulfil its constitutional mandate of legislation, representation and oversight.

The Directorate of Hansard and Audio Services

The Directorate of Hansard and Audio Services is responsible for House Reports. It records and produces verbatim reports of House proceedings and proceedings of oversight/ watchdog committees of the National Assembly. On occasions, the services of the Hansard Directorate are sought out for the recording of proceedings of ad hoc committees, departmental committees, commissions of inquiries, conferences et cetera.
