The Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula, has welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Akram Jameel Slaiman, for a courtesy visit in his office at Parliament Buildings.

The meeting showcased the commitment of both nations to enhance their parliamentary relations and explore avenues for mutual benefit.

During their discussions, the leaders focused on a broad range of topics, notably peace and diplomacy.

Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening ties to foster economic growth and stability.

A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to revive the Kenya-Iraq Parliamentary Group, an initiative aimed at bolstering parliamentary collaborations and fostering deeper bilateral relations.

Dr. Akram highlighted Iraq's thriving oil and gas sector as a potential area of benefit for Kenya.
