INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS FOR NOMINATION, BY THE SENATE, TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE EQUALIZATION FUND ADVISORY BOARD
IT IS NOTIFIED for the information of the general public that the position of member of the Equalization Fund Advisory Board under paragraph 4(1)(e) of the Public Finance Management (Equalization Fund Administration) Regulations, 2021 is vacant.
Under paragraph 4(1) of the Public Finance Management (Equalization Fund Administration) Regulations, 2021, the Equalization Fund Advisory Board shall consist of the following persons appointed by the Cabinet Secretary –
(a) the Chairperson who shall be appointed by the Cabinet Secretary;
(b) the Principal Secretary to the National Treasury or his representative designated in writing;
(c) the Principal Secretary responsible for matters relating to devolution or his or her representative designated in writing;
(d) one person from a pastoralist community nominated by the National Assembly;
(e) one person nominated by the Senate;
(f) one person nominated by the Council of Governors drawn from the areas defined as marginalized;
(g) the Chief Executive Officer who shall be the secretary to the Board; and
(h) three other persons nominated form organizations working in equalization fund beneficiary counties and special interest groups, appointed by the Cabinet Secretary.
PURSUANT to paragraph 4(1)(e) of the Regulations, the Senate invites applications from qualified persons wishing to be nominated by the Senate to the membership of the Equalization Fund Advisory Board.
To qualify for appointment, a person is required, pursuant to paragraph 5 of the Regulations, to –
(a) be a citizen of Kenya;
(b) hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
(c) have at least five years’ professional experience in a relevant field; and
(d) meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
APPLICATION PROCESS
(a) All applicants are required to fill the Job Application Form for Appointment of a Member of the Equalization Fund Advisory Board (2021) (Form EF1) which may be downloaded from the internet at www.parliament.go.ke.
(b) Applicants should attach, to their applications, copies of their academic and professional certificates, testimonials and current clearances from DCI, HELB, KRA, EACC, relevant professional bodies and any of the Credit Reference Bureaus.
(c) Applications should be addressed to -

(d) Applications and supporting documentation may be -
(i) hand-delivered in a sealed envelope during office hours to the Office of the Clerk of the Senate, First Floor, Main Parliament Buildings, Parliament Road, Nairobi; or
(ii) submitted online as a PDF file format attachment by emailing to csenate@parliament.go.ke.
(e) All applications should be received on or before Wednesday 17th November, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. (East African Time).
