The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Salim Mvurya reforms being undertaken by the Ministry will catapult Kenya into a desirable mining investment landscape and attract the best mining. 

Nyandarua County Governor His Excellency Dr. Moses Kiarie Badilisha, Nairobi City County Governor His Excellency Johnson Sakaja and Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker appeared before Senate Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources Chaired by Nyandarua Senator Sen.

Kirinyaga Senator James Kamau Murango has today sought a statement from the Standing Committee on Health regarding the delayed construction of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), Wamumu Station Medical Facility in Mwea West Sub-County. 

The Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries led by Embu Sen. Alexander Munyi Mundigi, MP, (Vice Chairperson) held a virtual meeting to consider a Statement sought by Sen. Hamida Kibwana, MP, on the State of the Nut Industry in Kenya.

The Senator had requested the committee in the statement to;

1. Provide an updated list of the areas under Nut farming in Kenya;

The Senate Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare Committee Chaired by West Pokot Senator Julius Murgor today met with the Cabinet Secretaries for Labour & Social Protection, and National Treasury to receive their responses on the Statement sought by Sen. Enoch Wambua concerning the payment of one-off honorarium to former councilors.

Three Cabinet Secretaries will appear before the Senate this Wednesday to answer questions from Senators.

The Cabinet Secretaries for Interior and National Administration Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Zachariah Njeru and Salim Mvurya of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs will appear before Senate pursuant to Standing Order 51A (5).

The three are scheduled to respond to questions from the Legislators on Wednesday 26, April 2023 beginning at 9:30am.
