National Assembly Clerk Mr. Samuel Njoroge urges parliamentary journalists to uphold ethical standards in their reporting.

The Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Samuel Njoroge, has called on journalists accredited to cover parliamentary proceedings to embrace self-regulation and uphold the highest ethical standards in their reporting.

Speaking during a working retreat between the National Assembly and the Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association (KPJA) at Travellers Beach Resort and Spa, Mr. Njoroge emphasized the pivotal role of the media in informing the public about parliamentary activities, stressing the need for accuracy, fairness, and professionalism.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula has urged leaders from the pastoralist community to use their numerical strength in Parliament to advocate for better policies, enact supportive legislation, and ensure adequate funding for the sector.

 Speaking when he officially opened the 4th Pastoralist Leadership Summit 2024, Speaker Wetang’ula further called on the caucus to prioritize livestock production, improve breed quality, and strengthen marketing strategies.

In a spirited showdown at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa County, Kenya’s men’s volleyball team has this evening reaffirmed their dominance in the sport with a commanding 3-1 sets’ victory over the Parliament of Uganda.

 Kenya, the defending champions displayed exceptional skill and teamwork to the delight of an electrified home crowd, claiming the sets at 25-20, 27-25 and 25-17.

Uganda managed to edge out a closely contested first set 26-24 but Kenya’s resilience and tactical brilliance saw them turn the tide in style.

Calls for a strengthened regional bloc dominated a day of celebration, energy and sportsmanship as the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Sports Tournament kicked off in style in Mombasa.

 The official launch held at the Mama Ngina Waterfront was marked by pomp and colour with President William Ruto leading the charge to promote regional unity through sports.

The launch brought together legislators from Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and hosts Kenya.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula has this morning donated Kshs. 2 Million to uplift the operations of Nzoia Sugar -FC Football Club.

Speaker Wetang’ula acknowledged that sporting is a critical sector in the country that needs to tapped into in order to enable the youth monetize their diverse talents.
