Speaker Lusaka Lauds Kenya-Sudan Relations as Envoy's Tour of Duty Draws to an End
NAIROBI, 11 July - The Speaker of the Senate, Rt Hon Kenneth Lusaka has hailed Kenya-Sudan bilateral relations.
Speaking when the Ambassador of Sudan in Kenya, HE Elsadig A Elias paid him a courtesy call at his Parliament Buildings Office, Lusaka stated that the two countries benefit from strong political and economic cooperation.
Establishment
Chapter eight of the Constitution of Kenya (the Constitution) establishes the Legislature. Article 93 of the Constitution states that “There is established a Parliament of Kenya,” (Parliament) “which shall consist of the National Assembly and the Senate.” The two Houses of Parliament shall perform their respective functions in accordance with the Constitution as stated in Article 93 (2) of the Constitution.
The Senate Determines The Allocation
The Senate determines the allocation of national revenue among counties, as provided in Article 217, and exercises oversight over national revenue allocated to the county governments.
