Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetangโ€™ula and Speaker of the Senate, Rt. Hon. Amason Kingiย hailed the 26-storey Bunge Tower which boasts 331 offices, 26 Committee rooms and a state of the art library as a "paradigm shift" and a "collective investment in our future,".

Speaker Wetang'ula, emphasized the symbolic importance of the Tower saying it is not just a physical structure.ย

"This Tower is not merely a physical structure. It embodies a paradigm shift in parliamentary infrastructure and functionality,โ€ he said.

ย On his part, Speaker Kingi, highlighted the Tower's role in empowering Senators. He recounted the Senate's journey from modest beginnings to its current modern chamber.

ย 'Thanks to support by the Exchequer, Senators now sit in a modern chamber, commendable progress from the modest precincts they occupied, first at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) and later at the County Hall," he said.

ย He added that the completion of Bunge Tower instills in us Kenyans a sense of ownership, symbolizing our collective investment in the future.

Parliamentary Service Commissioners joined in celebrating the Tower's completion and official opening terming it as a source of national pride.ย

"Bunge Tower is a testament to the Parliamentary Service Commission's (PSCโ€™s) commitment to facilitating Members of Parliament and staff to effectively undertake their mandates," said Commissioner Hon. Patrick Makau (Mavoko).ย

During the opening ceremony presided over by His Excellency, President Dr. William Ruto, MPs, Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) and other dignitaries were amazed at the architectural design.

Hon. Mishi Mboko (Likoni) spoke to contemporary design of the Bunge Tower and the conducive environment it has created.

ย โ€œOur modern day Parliament equips us as Members of Parliament to effectively legislate and oversight," she said. ย

ย Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Kimani Ichung'wah (Kikuyu), recounted the longstanding challenge of limited committee rooms.

ย "Presently, Committees often had to share spaces with the library and media center, hindering efficiency. Now, Bunge Tower boasts contemporary committee rooms, a welcome improvement that will streamline Parliamentary procedures," Hon. Ichungโ€™wah said.

In addition, he highlighted the financial benefits of the Tower noting that the opening will be a huge boost to the Commission's efforts towards prudent use of resources.

Leader of the Minority Party, Hon. Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) termed the Tower as revolutionary.ย

"We must clap for ourselves, as a country and even more so as a Parliament, the Bunge Tower is revolutionary. We may be one of the few Parliaments in this part of the world that has such advanced infrastructure," he said.ย

Regarding the technology incorporated into the Bunge Tower, Leaders of the Majority Party in the Senate, Sen. Aaron Cheruyiot (Kericho), who previously served as a Commissioner, praised the efforts made by the Leadership of Parliament to integrate technology with Parliamentary Work.ย

"We have 26 modern Committee rooms, four of which will be fitted with video conference facilities to enable remote presentation of evidence to Committees and live coverage of Committee proceedings,โ€ he said.ย

Previously, a number of MPs rented offices outside Parliament, incurring additional cost to the taxpayers.
