Deputy Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Owen Baya (Kilifi North) has urged Members sponsoring Bills and Motions to prioritize attendance of House sessions.

Hon. Baya made the call after three legislators sponsoring various Bills which are in the First and Second Reading stages, were absent in the House when called upon to move their Motions and Bills.

In addition, he urged sponsors of the various Bills undergoing the Third Reading to ensure that they scale up mobilization efforts to see to it that Members are present in the House to vote.

"Sometimes on a Wednesday I don't have to whip, push or lobby Members to come to the House to galvanize for their votes," said Hon. Baya.

He added that it was not the responsibility of the House Leadership to step in for absent Members to make progress on the various Bills and Motions.
