The National Assembly is set for a packed week starting today Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 2.30 p.m., with several key pieces of legislation, critical reports, and motions on the agenda.

Bills for Second Reading; 

1. Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No.2) Bill, 2023: This Bill proposes various amendments to existing laws across different sectors.

2. National Disaster Risk Management Bill, 2023: This Bill aims to establish a comprehensive framework for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

3. Employment (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bill No. 11 of 2022): This Bill, originating in the Senate, seeks to amend the Employment Act.

4. Natural Resources (Benefit Sharing) Bill (Senate Bill No. 6 of 2022): This Bill aims to regulate the equitable sharing of benefits from natural resources.

5. Petitions to Parliament (Procedure) (Amendment) Bill, 2022: This Bill proposes streamlining the process for submitting and handling petitions to Parliament.

6. Regional Development Authorities Bill, 2023: This Bill seeks to establish regional development authorities to promote balanced development across different regions.

Members Question Time resumes with the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage, Hon. Aisha Jumwa and Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Ezekiel Machogu expected to appear before the House on the afternoon of Wednesday, 28th February 2024 to respond to Members' Questions.

Report on the Compliance to Article 54(2) of the Constitution regarding employment of persons with disabilities in public institutions: This report sheds light on the implementation of the constitutional requirement for public institutions to employ persons with disabilities.
