LANDS AND LABOUR CABINET SECRETARIES ARE NEXT TO APPEAR BEFORE THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

The Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Hon. Zachariah Njeru and the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Hon. Florence Bore are expected to appear before the National Assembly on Wednesday, 14th June 2023 in the afternoon. 

This is according to the statement made by the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Kimani Ichung'wah in the House.

"Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 42A (5) and (6), providing an opportunity for Members of Parliament to pose questions to Government officials responsible for the relevant sectors, Hon. Florence Bore, Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Hon. Zacharia Njeru, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development will be making their first appearance in the National Assembly", said Hon. Ichung'wah.

Hon. Bore is set to respond to questions regarding the welfare of Kenyans working in Saudi Arabia and the efforts being made to regulate licensing of recruiting agencies.

She will also respond to questions about the effectiveness of the Inua Jamii programme,  the incorporation of senior citizens into the Older Persons Cash Transfer Scheme, the plight of orphans, widows, and widowers in the country and the eligibility of cancer survivors being registered as persons with disabilities.

Hon. Njeru will respond to questions in relation to constituency and county boundaries, as well as provide information on the resurveying, issuance of title deeds and the status of ownership of  Kwale International Sugar Company.
