The Kenya Roads (Amendment) Bill, 2024 has been approved by the National Assembly.

The Bill sponsored by Hon. Naisula Lesuuda seeks to amend the Kenya Roads (Amendment) Bill, 2023 to make provision for design and construction of lanes for non-motorized transport.

The Bill provides for the definition of the new terms including cycling lane, pedestrian walkway and non motorised vehicles.

The Chairperson of the Kenya-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hon. Dr. Adan Keynan has received a delegation of his counterparts from Turkey who are in the country on an official visit to the National Assembly.

The Turkish delegation, led by Hon. Ismail Gunes Usak, MP, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Keynan in his office at Parliament Buildings. They briefed him on the purpose of their visit to the August House and their engagements in Kenya.

VACANT POSITION FOR MEMBER OF THE PARLIAMENTARY SERVICE COMMISSION

The Parliamentary Service Commission is established under Article 127 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to among others provide services and facilities to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Parliament. Article 127 of the Constitution provides that the Parliamentary Service Commission shall consist of, among others, one man and one woman appointed by Parliament from among persons who are experienced in public affairs, but are not members of Parliament.

Members of the National Assembly have passed the Plant Protection Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 28 of 2025), paving the way for a modern legal and institutional framework to protect Kenya’s agriculture from plant pests and diseases while facilitating safe trade in plants and plant products.

The Bill seeks to strengthen the country’s phytosanitary regime by preventing the introduction, establishment and spread of plant pests, including foreign pests that could threaten agricultural production, food security and livelihoods.

𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐋, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The National Assembly has today approved the Public Participation Bill, 2025, paving way for enactment of the Law deemed crucial for better citizen engagement in public governance. 

The Bill cosponsored by Rarieda MP, Hon. Otiende Amollo and his Ainabkoi counterpart Hon. Samuel Chepkonga seeks to provide a clear legal framework to guide public participation in governance and decision making across Government entities.
