INVITATION FOR SUBMISSION OF MEMORANDA

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION NOTICE

The Senate Standing Committee on Health invites the public to submit memoranda on the Assisted Reproductive Technology Bill, 2022 (National Assembly Bills No. 61 of 2022).

The Bill provides a legal framework for assisted reproductive technology services, regulates surrogacy, prohibits certain practices, and protects the rights of parents, donors, surrogate mothers, and children.

The Clerk of the Senate of Kenya, Mr. Jeremiah M. Nyegenye, accompanied by members of the Senate Wellness Committee and staff, today paid a heartfelt visit to the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Kenyatta National Hospital in a show of solidarity and care for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Newly sworn-in Members of the National Assembly today began a two-day induction programme aimed at building the capacity and equipping legislators with the information and tools required to effectively discharge their constitutional roles.

The lawmakers; Hon. Ahmed Maalim Hassan (Banissa), Hon. Boyd Were Ongondo (Kasipul), Hon. David Athman Ndakwa (Malava), Hon. Leo Wa Muthende Njeru (Mbeere North) and Hon. Moses Okoth Omondi (Ugunja) were sworn in on December 2nd , 2025.

The Parliament of Kenya has marked an important milestone as its Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST) in partnership with the McGill University by celebrating the graduation of ten (10) women Members of Parliament from both the Senate and the National Assembly in a course titled Parliamentary Practices: Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) Programme.

The partnership, which began in 2016, has steadily grown to deliver flagship courses, including Contemporary Issues in Parliamentary Governance and, most recently, the GEWE Programme.
