WHEREAS, Article 118(1) (b) of the Constitution requires Parliament to facilitate public participation and involvement in the legislative and other business of Parliament and its Committees;

The Senate Standing Committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration has commended the Social Health Authority for upholding inclusivity in its staff composition.

The Committee, chaired by Marsabit Senator Mohamed Said Chute, expressed satisfaction that the Social Health Authority (SHA) had upheld fair employment practices, including the inclusion of communities that have long been marginalized.

The SHA CEO , Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, presented to legislators a comprehensive list of all recently recruited employees.

The National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) has commenced a nationwide public participation exercise on the Public Participation Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 44), 2025, in a move aimed at strengthening citizen engagement in governance and law-making.

The Bill, co-sponsored by Rarieda MP, Hon. Otiende Amollo and Ainabkoi MP, Hon. Samuel Chepkonga seeks to provide a  legal framework to guide how public participation is conducted across government institutions.
