Nairobi County Sen. Edwin Sifuna, MP, is seeking a statement from the Stranding Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relationa regarding the status of 

operationalizatrion of the Nairobi County Liquor Licensing Board. 

The Senator has requested the Committee to disclose the amount that has been raised through liquor licensing since the board's creation in 2014 and state the number of youth programmes, in the form of sporting and related activities, that have been created to rehabilitate alcohol and drugs addicts.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 𝐎𝐅 𝟔𝟑 𝐋𝐀𝐖𝐒.

The Senate Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations has resolved to initiate an audit of all laws existing before the promulgation of the 2010 constitution to identify those that require to be amended to align with the constitution.

In a statement to the Senate by the Committee Vice - Chair Sen. Catherine Mumma, the committee noted the need to review the devolved sector laws and align them to the Constitution of Kenya 2010 as they are contributing to the claw-back on the implementation of devolution.

The Senate Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare Chaired by West Pokot Senator, Julius Murgor held a meeting with the CS Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Arts and Sports, Hon. Ababu Namwamba; and a delegation of Petitioners led by Mr. James Gakonga to deliberate on the Ministry's response concerning Linda Soka tapping into Kshs. 302 billion football fund. 

STATEMENT ON LANDING RIGHTS FOR SCHEDULED INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS TO MOI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, MOMBASA

Nominated Senator,Hon. Miraj Abdullahi has sought a Statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing regarding landing rights for scheduled international flights to Moi International Airport.

The Senator wants the Committee to;

1. State the reasons for restriction and or denial of landing rights for several scheduled international flights to Moi International Airport (MIA) in Mombasa County.

The Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Zachariah Njeru, has today committed to ensure that all public land in the country is secured through titling.

While responding to Questions from the Honorable Senators on the Floor of the House, CS Njeru informed the Senate that the Government has started issuing titles to all public learning institutions through the national titling program, adding that this has been prompted by the rampant grabbing of public land.
