𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒 𝐋𝐔𝐈𝐆𝐈 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐎 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐄

The National Assembly Committee on Implementation, led by chairman Hon. Raphael Wanjala (Budalangi), convened a meeting with the implementing parties; the Kenya Space Agency, Italian Space Agency, and the Ministry of Defense to address the emerging issues. The meeting was also attended by IItalian Ambassador to Kenya Roberto Natali. 

“We are here to address concerns raised by the Defense Cabinet Secretary, indicating that Italy is not meeting its end of the bargain,“ said Hon. Wanjala.

Members of the National Assembly have shown their support for the implementation of Sex Education in Kenyan schools as a measure to address the high rates of unwanted pregnancies amongst the teenagers.  

Members debated a Motion by Hon. Njeri Maina (Kirinyaga), urging the National Government, through the State Department of Basic Education, to introduce comprehensive health, wellness, and sex education as a core subject in the school curriculum.

𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐍𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐄

Public entities will have to submit annual reports to Parliament, providing comprehensive details on their adherence to Kenya's diversity and equal opportunity standards within the public service if the Public Service (Values and Principles) (Amendment) Bill is passed by the House and assented to into law. 

The Bill aims to uphold the Constitutional provisions on  representation and equal opportunities for all citizens.

The Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning and the Select Committees on Public Debt and Privatization and Budget and Appropriations held a joint retreat with the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

The retreat covered key issues including revenue management, fiscal risks management and county public finance management; public investment and portfolio management; and public private partnerships (PPPs).

Members of the National Assembly have raised concern that the National Government has not only caused significant delays but has also failed in its duty to compensate citizens for the lands acquired for infrastructural projects.

The legislators noted that a number of Kenyans find themselves trapped in severe destitution due to the Government's forceful acquisition of their lands without compensation.

During a two-day multi-stakeholder engagement forum held over the weekend, Senator Godfrey Osotsi, Chair of the Select Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds, underscored the concerning issue of non-remittance of pension deductions by various entities across counties.
