The Public Debt and Privatization Committee led by the Vice-Chairperson Hon. Makali Mulu (Kitui Central), met with officials from the Office of the Auditor-General, to be briefed on loans disbursed by the Government and commitment fees.

The National Assembly’s Ad-hoc Committee of Inquiry chaired by Hon. Gabriel Tongoyo (Narok West) met with the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Information, Communication and the Digital Economy Mr. Eliud Owalo.

The legislators sought to know among others; the Ministry’s level of awareness of the data harvesting activities, as well as any legal and regulatory frameworks that should have been observed to avert this.

The Senate Standing Committee led by Nyeri County Senator kicked off its two day retreat today with the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF)to deliberate on the Agricultural Biotechnology Awareness. 

"I am so delighted with timelines of this engagement given the fact that Kenya has been faced with food security issues in the recent past. Factors like drought and

climate change mean that as a country, we have to explore alternative options of ensuring that Kenyans do not suffer from lack of access to basic food commodities.

Late this week, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), led by Chairperson Bishop David Oginde and Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak, appeared before the Justice Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee (JLAHRC). Their appearance was in response to a statement sought by Marsabit County Senator Mohamed Chute regarding the status of corruption inquiries in Arid and Semi-Arid lands (ASALs) Counties, specifically Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, and Samburu.
