The Senate resumes its sittings on Tuesday morning from a short recess. The main business of the House will be the plenary hearing of the impeachment motion against Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo.

 

Senate Speaker Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi gazetted the sitting and directed the House to proceed in plenary, following the rejection of a proposed select committee.

 

🕙 The morning session begins at 9:00 a.m., with the impeachment hearing set for 2:30 p.m. in the Senate Chambers, Parliament Buildings.

The National Assembly has unanimously passed the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which seeks to anchor three critical development funds into the Constitution: the National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CF), the Senate Oversight Fund (SOF), and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

During the Second Reading of the Bill, 304 Members of Parliament voted in favour, with none opposing. At the Third Reading, 298 MPs supported the Bill, registering a unanimous vote.
