The Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Hon Nelson Koech  (Belgut), will hold public hearings regardinf the conduct of British Army Training Unit in Kenya (BATUK) from in Laikipia and Samburu counties from Tuesday, May 28 to Thursday, May 30, 2024. 

The inquiry follows allegations of corruption, fraud, discrimination, and abuse of power within BATUK,

mistreatment, torture, unlawful detention, killings or any other violations of the internationally recognised human rights standards.

𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝗞𝗗𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗨𝗥𝗨

The National Assembly Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations is currently on a four-day inspection visit of Nakuru County to assess projects undertaken by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

National Assembly Speaker, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang'ula on Wednesday welcomed His Excellency Ibrar Husnain Khan, Pakistan's High Commissioner to Kenya, for a courtesy call at his office, Parliament Buildings.

Dr. Wetang'ula and High Commissioner Khan engaged in fruitful deliberations on various matters of mutual interest including enhanced Parliamentary engagements between the two nations.
